SteemitPhotoChallenge Entry for Desolation : Puddleglum's Murky Waters
This one I did take in a different season, but it was the first photo I could think of loving for the theme of Desolation.
It was taken with a Pentax K100D at Tourne Park in Boonton, NJ.
1/125s ƒ/8 ISO200 18mm (edited to black and white)
These trees never grow leaves and it is always so very swampy in this area. It seems so barren but beautiful. It reminded me of The Silver Chair from the Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis. Puddleglum is a froglike character in the book who lives alone and complains a lot. I could picture him living here.

I like the horizontal symmetry of the image very much.
