STREET AND DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY: BANANA SQUARE-LA PLAZA DEL PLÁTANO
Welcome everyone in the Steemit community.
Today I want to share with all of you a new delivery of my photographic work about the public market of the city of Barranquilla in Colombia. The Public Market of Barranquilla is divided into several zones, which have been called as Plazas, each Plaza receives a specific name according to the product that is marketed in that area, this is how we have The Fish Square (Plaza del Pescado), The Meat Square (Plaza de la Carne) and the Banana Square (Plaza del Plátano).
To each of the Plazas, come from different cities of the Colombian Caribbean region, wholesalers of each item, who start selling these products since dawn. Fish, Meat and Bananas are purchased by retailers who will then resell those products in the vicinity of the market or in the various retail stores that are located throughout the city.
During my visit to the market to document the activity at dawn, I could only visit the Plaza del Pescado and Plaza del Plátano. Today I want to share with all of you the material produced during that visit. It is my wish that you enjoy these images as much as I did when making them.
