[ENG-SPN] From Babel to Madrid / De Babel a Madrid

It would not be unreasonable to suppose that, millennia after the dramatic story of the Tower of Babel, which was, furthermore, a recurring motif also among the great artists of all time, Humanity learned its lesson, cultivating the most universal of all the languages: Geometry. Sacred or not, Geometry propelled Architecture to the point of solving all those legendary inconveniences, evolving to make towers that other reality that biblical architects, apparently, could only dream of, to the point that, in today, these great architectural landmarks, with their advantages and disadvantages, constitute a reference for getting to know cities from a totally different perspective.

Madrid, like many other cities in the world, also has its magnificent landmarks, such as the terrace of the Hotel Rius, to offer tourists, travelers or the curious the possibility of contemplating, from a bird's eye view, the hidden places and form another idea of a city, which, since the times of the ancient Romans, has been widening and extending, preserving, to a greater or lesser extent, a succession of styles and architectures, which time makes coexist as if they were the imaginary chapters of a history and design book that has no end.

No sería descabellado suponer, que, milenios después de la dramática historia de la Torre de Babel, que fue, además, un motivo recurrente también entre los grandes artistas de todos los tiempos, la Humanidad aprendió la lección, cultivando el más universal de todos los idiomas: la Geometría. Sagrada o no, la Geometría impulsó a la Arquitectura, hasta el punto de solventar todas esas inconveniencias legendarias, evolucionando hasta hacer de las torres esa otra realidad que los arquitectos bíblicos, al parecer, tan sólo pudieron soñar, hasta el punto de que, en la actualidad, estos grandes hitos arquitectónicos, con sus ventajas y sus desventajas, constituyen todo un referente para conocer las ciudades desde una perspectiva totalmente diferente.

Madrid, como muchas otras ciudades del mundo, también tiene sus magníficos referentes, como la terraza del Hotel Rius, para ofrecer, tanto a turistas, como a viajeros o como a curiosos, la posibilidad de contemplar, a vista de pájaro, los recónditos lugares y formarse otra idea de una ciudad, que, desde los tiempos de los antiguos romanos, se fue ensanchando y extendiendo, conservando, en mayor o en menor medida, una sucesión de estilos y arquitecturas, a los que el tiempo hace convivir como si fueran los imaginarios capítulos de un libro de historia y diseño que no tiene fin.
