I believe it's because he thinks you are stealing the pictures you posted from somewhere else and would like to see some verifiable proof you are who you say you are. A lot of users have posted a picture of themselves holding a card with their name/tag on it for verification or posted something on their IG/etc account about steem and then posted a link to it here.
