Recife, a Poetic City

Hello Followers and all the Steemit!

Today I bring you some pictures I took during a tour of a true work of art that is the city where I live, Recife. Recife of the bridges, rivers and mangroves. A city that breathes culture and history in any places. It is very easy walking through Recife and be impressed with so much beauty in its historic buildings, its architecture that blends European heritage with rustic and original features of a setting that we found only here.

Hoje eu trago para vocês algumas fotos que eu tirei durante um passeio de uma verdadeira obra de arte que é a cidade onde moro, Recife. Recife das pontes, dos rios e do mangue. Uma cidade que respira cultura e história em todo lugar. É muito fácil caminhando pelo Recife nos impressionarmos com tanta beleza em seus prédios históricos, sua arquitetura que mistura a herança européia com traços rústicos e originais de uma ambientação que encontramos somente aqui.

A city like any other, coexists with diverse social, political and economic problems. With a state that oppresses especially the poorest, that deceives with false promises of welfare, only seeking votes for the next election. What makes me happy and hopeful is that this city has a very strong libertarian influence inherited by great revolutionaries as Frei Caneca and Joaquim Nabuco, which are big names who fought against oppression and for freedom not only in Recife or Pernambuco, but in Brazil.

Uma cidade que como qualquer outra, convive com diversos problemas sociais, políticos e econômicos. Com um estado que oprime em especial os mais pobres, que os iludem com falsas promessas de assistencialismo, somente visando votos para a próxima eleição. O que me deixa feliz e esperançoso é que essa cidade tem muita influência libertária muito forte herdada por grandes revolucionários como Frei Caneca e Joaquim Nabuco, que são grandes nomes que lutaram contra a opressão e pela liberdade não só no Recife ou em Pernambuco, mas no Brasil.

Sculptures in french style that are in the outer area of the Teatro de Santa Isabel, the most important theater of the city with neoclassical style founded in the XIX century.

This is Recife, a city with over 400 years old, full of history, culture, with an intense urban life, multicultural, religious, political, and it is for artists and photographers like me a great source of inexhaustible inspiration. We always have things to see, that admire us and inspire us.

Essa é Recife, uma cidade com mais de 400 anos, cheia de história, cultura, com uma vida urbana intensa, multicultural, religiosa, política e que é para artistas e para fotógrafos como eu uma grande fonte de inspiração inesgotável. Sempre temos o que ver, nos admirar e nos inspirar.
