in #photography8 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemit and all Followers!

I made a photo shoot in B&W style of dissemination of the project's shirts "Batalha do Castelinho" (Battle of the Little Castle). The project "Batalha do Castelinho" is a social project in community Residential Muribeca, a neighborhood on the outskirts of the city of Jaboatão dos Guararapes, Brazil.

The project aims to rescue the youth of this community of drugs and delinquency through cultural workshops geared to music production, especially in the Rap music genre. The young people of this project make through the lyrics of their songs rhymed a manifesto against the local government that destroyed the community where they live, leaving in the street over 12 thousand families without hope of one day return to live in the community that both loved and were happy.

The Scenario

The setting of this photo shoot is the community of young people, or what's left of it after people have been forcibly removed from their homes by the state and all the buildings have been demolished.

Very creative shots. I like the shallow depth field and use of black and white. Also though these places are in disrepair and disarray they have their own kind of beauty. Thanks for sharing.

The quality and artistic merit of the photography here is excellent. The use of black and white adds to the mood nicely. Really good photo shoot.
