The Mono Chrome PeacocksteemCreated with Sketch.

It takes a lot of balls to want to show a peacock in Black & White - That's how it would have looked before color film was invented.

I did this shot on the weekend with a Fujifilm XT-1 mirrorless digital camera - XF 18-55mm Lens set at 61 mm (if it were a 35mm camera). Obviously it was shot in color and looks really great. The bird was so vain he posed and turned to show me his different angles. But why do the obvious, I thought.

So I used the NIK plugin Silver EFEX pro 2 in Photoshop CC to emulate a decent B&W  film version - I chose AGFA APX 100 film - The problem was which FILTER to put on the front of the camera - Each color filter LIGHTENS it's own color - so a BLUE filter makes the blues in the picture LIGHTER, and so on - The main colors on the bird are greens and blues, so it boiled down to my personal vision as to which would show a nicer result. Hope you like it.

the focus on those beautiful textures and patterns emerges in this format - nice one

The Fuji lens is really great to work with - Fast focus as well - Thanks
