Coral Castle || A Mystery That Has Baffled Scientists
Edward Leedskalnin | A World Wonder ~
A unique personality that longed for love, and created world wonders such as the one-of-a-kind sundial, an almost 9-ton revolving 8-foot gate, and consists of almost 1,100-ton of stones in the form of walls, carvings, furniture and a castle tower.
This Latvian man had his hopes set on creating an environment perfect for a future family that he was denied. This did not cripple his visionary scope of creation. His sundial is a symbol of his technical flawlessness. If the sun is shining; then you will still to this day, see the time of the day down to the minute.
With only a 4th grade formal education he worked as an amateur astronomer, by creating non-movable shrines to constellations that align and highlight their position with his stationary carvings. When people asked Leedskalnin how he had moved all of the heavy stone on his own, he usually replied, "I understand the laws of weight and leverage and I know the secrets of the people who built the pyramids".
