The furry friends/ Los amigos peludos

Do you have a cat in your home?, is a lover of the furry kittens that spend all day and all night sleeping without ceasing? Therefore I say that it is not the only one; from the 60 cats that ensure was Ernest Hemingway, passing through the idyllic and dear to Baudelaire (who went on to write poetry as a Don Juan in love), Julio Cortázar and Jorge Luis Borges, cats have been, and probably always will be, the pleasant company of the writers. Let us remember, moreover, that have been set out in the Universal Literature. To say the famous Puss in Boots, the protagonist of the work of Charles Perrault; or of the Cheshire cat, that lover smiling that served as an allegory to the cheeses in the region who catapulted unknown Lewis Carroll.

Also, the eccentric William Burroughs would develop a magnificent work in which you describe your own relationship with these animals (known as Jack Locked); and let's not forget, finally, with a touch of macabre and mysterious, the popular story by Edgar Allan Poe in which a black cat pursues the consciousness of an unfortunate man. I dedicate these last lines in the memory of my cat "Gordo" (to whom they see in the picture) with the verses of Charles Baudelaire in his work the flowers of evil contained in a poem in honor of these felines: "Come, beautiful cat, my loving chest; Seal the nails of your leg, and let me sink into your eyes beautiful mixture of agate and metal."

¿Acaso tiene usted un gato en su hogar?, ¿es amante de los peludos mininos que pasan todo el día y toda la noche durmiendo sin cesar? Pues le digo que no es el único; desde los 60 gatos que aseguran tuvo Ernest Hemingway, pasando por los idílicos y queridos por Baudelaire (a quienes les llegó a escribir poemas como un Don Juan enamorado), pasando por los de julio Cortázar y Jorge Luis Borges, los gatos han sido, y quizás siempre serán, la grata compañía de los escritores. Recordemos, además, que han sido figura determinante en la Literatura Universal. Qué decir del famosos Gato con Botas, el protagonista de la obra de Charles Perrault; o del gato de Cheshire, ese amante sonriente que servía como alegoría a los quesos autóctonos de la región a quien catapultó al desconocido Lewis Carroll. También, el excéntrico William Burroughs elaboraría una magnífica obra en la que describiría su propia relación con estos animales (conocida como Gato Encerrado); y no olvidemos, por último, con un toque macabro y misterioso, el popular cuento de Edgard Allan Poe en la que un gato negro persigue la conciencia de un desafortunado hombre. Dedico estas últimas líneas en la memoria de mi gato “Gordo” (a quien ven en la fotografía) con los versos de Charles Baudelaire en su obra magna las flores del mal recogidos en un poema en honor a estos felinos:

                                                                      “Ven, bello gato, a mi amoroso pecho;
                                                                                      Retén las uñas de tu pata,
                                                                 Y deja que me hunda en tus ojos hermosos
                                                                                      Mezcla de ágata y metal.”
