The same applies to women's traditional outfits, like Jilbabs. Every woman had to cover her head. For someone, this norm had a pagan meaning. For someone - a religious one, and also, perhaps, some other hygienic message took place. In the eyes of modern designers, national clothes are different because not everyone turns to the history of the costume. Folklore costume, which we are used to seeing, is more represented in everyday life. It's too colorful an image, shiny fabrics. This significantly cheapens the image of national clothing.
