A gift from the south of Venezuela

in #photography5 years ago (edited)

A friend traveled to the Bolivar state and brought this for me: These are the seeds of what we call in my country "merey"

I had always eaten it directly from the supermarket but I had never seen it this way.
The merey is a dried fruit of a tree called "Anacardo" that comes from the southern zone of Venezuela and the northern area of Brazil.

The red or yellow part of this fruit is called "Caju" and is really juicy and delicious.

To enjoy the merey as much as we like, the seed is first subjected to a drying process, where the shell must be burned because it is very resistant. In addition, the merey has an oil that protects it (it tastes very bad) and must be burned as well.

Since pixabay or pexels websites are free to use, your curator will have no trouble checking on all your photos if they're copyright free before they cast an upvote for you. Hope this help 🙂
