In the open ocean...... there’s nowhere to hide....so what do you do?

Wildlife photographer of the year people's choice award....

Look carefully!

the look down fish.... a name it probably gets from the steep profile of its head.....

with mouth set low and large eyes high..... is a master of camouflage!

Recent research suggests that.......

it uses special platelets in its skin cells to reflect polarized light..... (light moving in a single plane).....

making itself almost invisible to predators and potential prey........

The platelets scatter polarised light depending on the angle of the sun......

doing a much better job than simply reflecting it like a mirror......

the fish disappears!!! gone!!!

How amazing is that?....

so....how do you photograph a fish that disappears?

anyway......

enjoy a great picture.....

wow .......so beautiful fish

Its amazing !

fantastic four

I knew it was real

they kind of remind me of the 'white walkers' from Game of Thrones - fascinating...

Informatif description...Thanks for this precious information of How Fish Minimize Their Visibility to Predators in Open Waters.

Yeah to stop us to eat them but we wont hahaha :D i am fish meat lover :D

Im think if getting it's dna and somehow mixing it with humans could divert this invisible trait to us

Lol Future Thinking Man what an idea :D

I read somewhere if you extract blood from a living monkey and then inject it into the veins of a dead human body, its possible to protect the body from decaying for a very long time. And in evolutionary biology lectures the professor said humans share ancestors with lots of animal.. so yeah I think DNA manupulation in research labs can make all kinds of mutation.. But then fishes are underwater creatures and we are land creatures.. But then there's no harm in doing experiments.. give me some funds and access to a big research lab and all kinds of legal permissions and perhaps I can discover invisibility for humans

wish you best of luck i hope you get chance to prove yourself up 😍

it's just an hypothesis..conducting the experiment is not appropriate as human samples are needed..who knows when things go wrong..do u get what I'm trying to say.
