I was luck enough to see an eclipse in the Hungarian countryside in (I believe) 2004. The locals turned it into a party and cookout. Very festive. During the total eclipse we watched without eye protection for those few minutes.

It was really eerie. The landscape darkened, but the horizon was light, the opposite of what you'd see at dusk. And the temperature noticeably dropped.

I'm not in the path of the eclipse where I live this time around. But I hope you have a good time.
