Today I will make a surprise for my mother who deserves it all, it is a recipe made with very few ingredients, easy preparation and also a delicious option to share with the family.

It is a recipe prepared by my beloved grandmother, my mother learned to make it and I can also make it, although my mom's and mine have no comparison with what my grandmother did.

This is sweet quinchoncho with yam, it is a dessert prepared by my grandmother more than anything in the festivities of Easter, but today I wanted to prepare it for my mom in honor of my beloved grandmother since it is very delicious and I know they will love it.

Many will find it strange to use these ingredients to make a sweet, but I invite you to try it, I know you will like it a lot.

For the production of sweet potato with yams we need:

Ingredients for the sweet of pigeon pea:

-1kg of quinchoncho.

-1 / 2kg of sugar.

-1 / 2kg milk.

-1 coconut

-2 liter of water

Yam sweet ingredients

-2kg of yam.

-1 / 2kg of sugar.

-1 / 2kg of milk.

-1, 1/2 liter of water.

Materials:

-Great balls.

-1 Cutting board.

-1 Blender.

-1 Knife.

-1 Strainer.

-1 Wooden spoon.

-Copas.

-Dishes.

-A large cup.

A lot of desire to cook!

Preparation of the quinchoncho candy:

We take 1kg of pigeon peas and put them to cook on a rapid fire in 2 liter of water for 45min, this type of beans are easily obtained in the supermarket.

When the cooking of the pigeon pea is ready and they are very soft, we remove them from the fire and let them rest with the water. Then we proceed to break the coconut with a hammer, and then chop it into small pieces, we introduce it in the blender with a little water, we liquefy it until we obtain something similar to grated coconut, all with the intention of extracting the coconut milk, this we use a colander we introduce in the whole coconut that was in the blender and with a spoon we are taking out the juice of the coconut and we deposit it in a cup, this will be used later.

After obtaining coconut milk. We take the cooked quinchonchos together with the water that were cooked, and then we introduce the pigeon peas in the blender with a little cooking water, we are gradually adding the coconut milk and liquefy, then we will be adding full milk in the blender and finally the sugar, all the ingredients are mixed well until obtaining a homogeneous paste.

Then we put to cook this mixture in a pot on a quick heat, it is important to know that this must be constantly mixing until it breaks down, to avoid that it is going to burn the mixture, when we have about 15 minutes mixing, let's start to see bubbles and we can appreciate that it is getting thicker, this is the desired consistency, when we see that it is very thick we remove it from the fire so that it rests and later we put it to refrigerate.

For the preparation of the yam sweet:

For the preparation of the yam sweet, we take 2kg of yam, wash it very well and then proceed to cut it into small squares, it is very important that they are small so that it does not cause inconveniences in the blender, after cutting them we put them in a large pot with 2litres of water, put it to cook over a high heat for about 35 minutes, until the yam becomes soft and almost all the water that was in the pot is dried, when this has happened we remove it from the fire we should not strain the water with which we cooked the yam, we put to rest the cooking for about 5 minutes until it cooled.

After it has rested we proceed to put the yam in the blender together with the water with which it was cooked, we liquefy, and we are adding little by little the milk powder and then adding sugar, it is very important that they mix well the ingredients that do not remain lumps, this mixture for the sweet of yam is of a texture thicker than that of the pigeon pea, so it will be faster when cooking.

Then we proceed to place this mixture in a large pot and put it to cook over high heat until it breaks boil, it should be mixed constantly because it could burn us, this mixture is too thick they will also remove muscle with it, when we observe that bubbles leave and the mixture gets even thicker we are getting the desired consistency, when we see that we can take out the wooden spoon full of mixture without it falling we know that it is ready, then we put the mixture to rest and then put it to refrigerate.

For decoration:

For the decoration of this dessert we take 2 glasses, then we take the sweet of pigeon pea and with a spoon we are depositing it in the bottom of the glass, on top of this we place the sweet of yam, as they are of different densities they are not going to mix, then with a small spoon we take a little arequipe put it on one end of the cup and finally decorate with a beautiful flower.
