Pools of reflection

in #photography6 years ago

"Did you ever wonder if the person in the puddle is real, and you're just a reflection of him?"

~ Bill Watterson

This afternoon, as the rains subsided from Tropical Storm Alberto, I decided to go outside and capture shots using my Canon 80D camera.

If you have followed me here on Steemit, you have seen that I have a fondness for nature photography. There is a serenity to it found nowhere else, and today was no different.

I decided to capture shots of hanging trees and other surrounding fixtures through reflections in puddles. Some are of a telephone pole along the side of road, while some are of surrounding trees along a gravel road.

The quote above applied beautifully to the photos captured today. The shots almost seem lifelike, as if the trees are growing in the ground. Are they real or just reflections of its real self? You be the judge.

Here are the shots I was able to capture:

May our reflections hold the same kind of beauty that is deep down inside of us.

One love,

I'm new to this community.
I also really like photography.
I see a lot of beautiful postings on your blog.
I'll be back to see more great posts.

I always enjoyed going out into the city after a good downpour to take photos. The reflection shots off of the pavement always turned out nice with the cityscape reflected in them.

I believe part of your connection with nature photography has to do with the fact that taking the photos force us to slow down and take it all in. In our normal day to day we have somewhere to be and no time to get there which leaves us ignoring the beauty around us. Taking a camera out in the world encourages you to notice the detail that is often overlooked.

A very good set

I totally love water puddle reflection photos :)
