On one of my many trips to Washington D.C., I went to the FBI Headquarters and visited a museum they had set up for citizens to get an understanding of the inner-workings of the FBI. In order to get a tour of the Headquarters, you have to contact your State Representative in advance, as well as send your Social Security information to them so they can perform a background check. Security is paramount to them, so they do this for the safety of all involved.

One of the shots I took was of the boat that the Boston Bomber was hiding in when he was captured. As you can see, there was a lot of gunfire when the capture took place. Luckily, he was caught and the city of Boston was able to begin their mourning from that awful event.

Another photo I took was of a German KRYHA Cryptologic Machine. Germans were experts at cryptic messaging before WWI, so these machines were used by spies in order to send cryptic messages back to Germany.

The next photo I captured detailed the inner workings of a spy. It said how they would leave chalk marks as messages for other spies, as well as detailed how they go about their business in order to not be caught. We truly don't realize how many spies there are out there amongst us, so it was pretty cool to see some information highlighting this.

One of the final photos I took was of the Ten Most Wanted list for the FBI. There have been numerous high profile figures that have found their names on the list, including Osama Bin Laden, Whitey Bulger, amongst others. Created in 1950, there have been over 500 people on the list throughout history, and according to the FBI, 90% of them have been caught.

It is a really cool place to visit and I suggest that you check it out if you ever get the chance to do so. You get a better understanding of how one of our government agencies work and really gives you a sense of security knowing how hard they work to catch the bad guys.

One love,

Fox and Scully always made being a FBI agent look so mystical but in reality it is a dark job indeed. They have to deal with some really rough stuff.

@prydefoltz Yes! I love me some X-Files! They really do make it seem like a glorious, action packed job in television and cinema, but in all reality, it is a crazy tough job. I do not envy those that have to put their lives on the line to save the masses and those that have to sift through thousands of disturbing images to catch a criminal. But hey, somebody has to do it.

I know what you mean and I am glad it is not me too:)

Beautifull post dear I like it

Great, I really liked the photo of the end where the 10 most wanted by the FBI is amazing as they say that 90% of that list have already been caught, the truth is that they do a great job

This has to be one of the coolest place to visit. I can only imagine how stressful it must be on the agents to make sure the people are okay and in doing what is required of them.

Great Work! We appreciate your quality content and use of our service.
