RE: The Capital: VIENTIANE, Laos
This was originally a very negative post, because honestly it was a negative experience. 12 hour bus ride of death, dealing with rude Thai immigration officers, the super hot day, rude tuk-tuk drivers, 20 km walk, then another 12 hour Baton death march ride back home, but I cut it out.
It is super easy to find a job there though. If you speak Thai it’s even easier.
The bus driver must have been on meth. I remember all of us bouncing half way to the ceiling several times. Ok he hates his life, his job, cares less if a bunch of poor people and some white guy die, but he should’ve cared about the monk. He was really nice too.
If you ever come to Laos, never ever use one of these crappy van buses, unless you enjoy pain and almost dying every corner.
I'd like to think that all of those buses are in my rear view mirror for now. I can't remember the last time i had a good experience on one of them. Even the VIP options are using the adjective in a very exaggerated sense.
