TRUE LOVE DOESN'T AGE - This Beautiful, Historic Swinging Bridge Sees the Sweetest Kiss

in #photography7 years ago

It's still there, nestled in the growing vines, swaying with the breeze. It was built in 1938, and restored in 1977. The names of the locals who labored with love are carved into with weathered wooden planks. It's known as the Haggard Ford Swinging bridge, and known for it's remote location and romantic feel, it's a hotspot for teenage lovers.

Or maybe just lovers who are teenagers at heart...

Sheryl & Derrell are the proud grandparents of 11 grandchildren & over 20 great-grandchildren.

Last Summer, I had the pleasure of spending some time with this outstanding couple. Sheryl & Darrel moved to the Ozarks after visiting the area during a post-retirement vacation. They said they moved here because of its breathtaking beauty. After seeing our grand Ozark mountains, rivers, and valleys, they decided Harrison was going to be their new home.

As we walked, they told me about every one of their children and how proud they are of their large family. They talked about their beginnings and everything that lead them to where they are now, the proud great-grandparents of over 20 kids. Darrel's sharp sense of humor and Sheryl's quiet sweetness and warm generosity compliment each other perfectly, and one might surmise that to be the reason their relationship is so obviously strong.
