Thanks @keithboone, yes I'd be interested to know what sort of couds they are! It was quite dull and gloomy prior to the sun setting , once the sun got under the cloud line they really came alive!
Yes, I have sometimes observed the same thing. I have some photos somewhere. I'll have to take a look for them.
Oh yes, if you find them I would love to see!
