Tybee Island, Georgia: Vacation Day 4 Part 1
On our fourth day of vacation we took a short trip down to Georgia. Tybee Island was our first stop of the day.
Located RIGHT on the beach is Tybee Marine Science Center where our friend Joy works and we got to tour for free, which was pretty cool!
Tybee Island is a barrier island in Chatham County, Georgia, near Savannah, United States. The name Tybee Island is also used for the city located on part of this island.
The island is the easternmost point in Georgia. The famous phrase "From Rabun Gap to Tybee Light," intended to illustrate the geographic diversity of Georgia, contrasts a mountain pass near the state's northernmost point with the coastal island's famous lighthouse.
We spent an hour or two here letting the kids swim before lunch.
As we left the island i got this picture of the lighthouse out the window going 60Mph over the bridge!
