Floating The Jacks Fork in August 2015 (10 Pictures)

in #photography7 years ago

Man how i miss summer!!! This is a collection of pictures from a friends birthday float! A Part of the river that we know very well!

We usually either up in at Blue Springs (or Bachers cuts off about an hour) and float to Rhymers access!
There are lots of bluffs and small springs that feed the river!

There are LOTS of deep holes where some BIG Fish live... for instance Smallmouth Bass must be at least 18" long to keep!

On the way is Jam up Cave, one of Missouri's Largest!! It's entrance is about 80 feet high and 100 feet wide! The back has a pool of water and a small waterfall and passage way you can climb to a sinkhole entrance at the back!

Back on our way down river!

We Met these two gentlemen 'Poling' Up river!

We always hate when the trip ends! But that's what keeps us going back!

Here is a river map for those that are interested! (source: Currentriver.net an nps.gov exerpt)

We are so lucky to live only 5 minutes from all this beauty!

Thanks for looking!

Oh wow. Never been down that part of Jack's Fork. I see some floating in my future.

It is beautiful for sure!! Let me know when you're coming and we can try to meet up!

Dang! That looks like so much fun. I used to live in Missouri, near Kansas City. My brother lived in Springfield. We often talked about canoeing the Current River, but never got a chance to do it together. We do take trips up to Boundary Waters Canoe Area. We are planning a trip there this fall. You just might become one of my favorites here on Steemit! I am passionate about canoeing, kayaking, camping, and swimming.

Well thank you!! We do love some floating!! We plan to hit the current and eleven point this summer!!
