Montana Sunrise & the Growing Baby Chickens - A Few Photos
Beautiful Saturday morning sunrise yesterday (12/15) & no chemtrails in the sky! Picture taken at 8:21am, the days are so short now with sunrise after 8am...

Not much snow in the valley for this time of year but still cold & wintry. The chickens aren't a big fan, but at least they've got a rather large coop to hang out in, and the baby chicks have grown so quickly they're closing in on adulthood fast. They're always happy to have their access to the outside opened back up in the morning unless it's super cold, rushing out into the snow and fresh air before usually meandering right back into the coop after a few minutes upon realizing it's still winter...
One of the chicks is seen above center, more like teenage chickens now, getting harder to tell them apart from all the adults based on size, and this one I am not yet sure if it is a baby hen (pullet) or a baby rooster (cockerel), but it is one of the two younger chicks (as I had one hatch with four chicks and a few weeks later a second hatch with two chicks). There are six chicks total, two of this particular breed mix, the other is certainly a rooster.
Below on the right is the older of the two purebred Hamburg chicks which are both pullets, next to one of the full grown hens for comparison:
And the younger Hamburg pullet on the right also next to one of the three adult hens, one of which has to be the genetic mother:
And again with her 'real' but not genetic mother, Chantecler Canadian breed hen who hatched and raised them:
And of the third breed type I got, another mix, both are certainly roosters, seen roosting below with their sister the purebred Hamburg. I'm calling them the Lakenburg because I'm pretty sure they are a mix between Hamburg and Lakenvelder, both really small-breed chickens.
Below is one of the 'Lakenburgs' next to his brother, the other mixed breed, this the older one certainly to be a rooster:
Here is another pic of this guy showing his rooster-hood, seen especially in the tail feathers (not certain what this mix is but they've got a pretty cool unique color pattern):
And all three big bros just chillin' on a roost-bar:
And here is the dad, Mr. Rooster as I call him, purebred Hamburg:
Hope you enjoyed the pictures, below are links to previous posts on the chicks when they were younger for anyone who would like to compare - they grow so fast it's almost unbelievable!
