After 20+ Days Without Snow, I Woke Up to This Unexpected Winter Wonderland!

Woke up this morning to this beautiful snow storm, the type of snow that sticks on everything and just turns the entire landscape into a pure white winter wonderland - above is one of the apple trees in the back yard.

After over 20 days without even one snow flurry in the Gallatin Valley here in Montana, there was a winter storm advisory over the weekend but it only barely snowed a dusting in town. Last I checked yesterday, it wasn't supposed to snow again until Tuesday/Wednesday, with a slight chance of less than half an inch tonight, so totally wasn't expecting to wake up to this winter wonderland! The snow was even sticking to and covering the vertical chicken and garden fences, and even the clothesline:

It's pretty warm for January and not the bitter cold kinda snowstorm you need to hibernate through, so off to use the snowblower for the first time in January, and then take some pictures; a few more are below:

The snow really stacked up on our big old pine, four inches deep just like on the ground...

And the view across the back yard looking at the hedge and another apple tree in the foregrand, so white:

Well it was a little late, but finally feels like winter here in Bozeman, Montana again. Crazy weather this year... And like usual, the weathermen often have no clue.

Have a great day and thanks for checking out my post; hope you enjoyed the pictures :>) Happy winter! Peace.

Stunningly beautiful. It reminds me of my native Quebec. Miss the scenery, not so much the freezing cold. Are you originally from these wereabouts in Montana?

No, not originally from Montana, been here in Bozeman for over 10 years now though, probably won't be here too much longer due to quickly skyrocketing price of housing & other reasons... And now we got dumped on again yesterday, and tonight/tomorrow is supposed to bring yet another huge storm! I guess winter hits Montana all at once this year! It is beautiful though, and so far no bitter cold along with the snow so I'll take it.

I was actually born in Chicago, grew up my youngest years in Columbia, SC & then grew up most of my teen years in Africa, believe it or not :) Both Tanzania and Kenya - learned a lot growing up in 3rd world countries. Most Americans have no clue...

Where are you now if not Quebec any longer?
