English When we let build our new house a few years ago we decided to use rather modern technology. For example we let install an air-to-air-heat pump, which receives part of its electricity from our photovoltaic power plant. Additionally we use an energy storage device and an air handling system so that we can let the windows closed (maybe another time I will write about it). My father suggested to install an "old fashioned" fireplace as well, as it could be useful in winter and would create a cozy atmosphere in the living room. At first we didn't want: the house was already very expensive anyway and also we didn't see a real advantage in an additional heater ... What can I say? Today we are very happy that finally we listened to my father. We love that fireplace and spent many nice hours in front of it yet. I hope you enjoy the pictures of our fireplace! :) |
Deutsch Als wir vor einigen Jahren unser neues Haus bauen ließen, entschlossen wir uns, möglichst moderne Technologien zu nutzen: Als Heizung dient eine Luftwärmepumpe, die einen Teil ihres Stroms von unserer PV-Anlage bezieht, welche außerdem unseren Stromspeicher auflädt. Dazu kommt eine dezentrale Lüftungsanlage, so dass wir die Fenster geschlossen halten können (vielleicht schreibe ich ein andermal darüber). Mein Vater schlug vor, außerdem einen "altmodischen" Kaminofen aufzustellen - er könne uns im Winter wärmen und für eine gemütliche Atmosphäre in unserem Wohnzimmer sorgen. Zuerst wollten wir nicht: das Haus war schon teuer genug und wir konnten keinen wirklichen Nutzen in einer zusätzlichen Heizung erkennen ... Was soll ich sagen? Heute sind wir sehr froh, auf meinen Vater gehört zu haben. Wir lieben diesen Ofen und verbrachten schon viele Stunden gemütlich davorsitzend. aha)))..Although spring is coming to Moscow)) In Holland we have fireplace and I miss it here in Moscow....
