Green spider on fig tree / Grüne Spinne auf Feigenbaum

English Today I observed a bright green colored "cucumber green spider" (Araniella cucurbitina) settling on our perennial fig tree (Ficus carica 'Babits'). One can very well recognize that it is a male exemplar, because of its big pedipalps looking like boxing cloves and serving as sperm storage and conductor. |
Deutsch Heute beobachtete ich eine leuchtend grün gefärbte "Kürbisspinne" (Araniella cucurbitina), die sich gerade auf unserem winterharten Feigenbaum (Ficus carica 'Babits') niederließ. Man kann an den großen, wie Boxhandschuhe aussehenden Pedipalpen, die als Spermaspeicher und -überträger dienen, sehr gut erkennen, dass es sich um ein männliches Exemplar handelt. |
