More Mushrooms Up Close
I found a picture that technically belongs with the previous set while editing some images from today's walk. Here are some more mushrooms emerging from the forest floor in response to the recent autumn rainfall.
This is a small white mushroom with a smooth cap, as opposed to the spiky texture of the ones in the last post. This is the leftover image that was overlooked.
Above: tiny brown mushrooms with a dimpled cap. Below: attempted flash photograph of the same.
These mushrooms are emerging from a deep blanket of pine needles. I don't know what the stems look like because I didn't want to disturb them.
This last mushroom was growing deep underneath some dead bushy undergrowth.
I will try to find something more conventionally photogenic if I continue this "Up Close" photography series. Of course, the next subject depends entirely on the next oddity to capture my attention, so I make no promises.
Addendum: I uncovered this cluster whilst finishing some raking in the field.
