Aviation blog - part 14 - United Airlines Boeing B757-200
Hi guys!
In this post I will share another Boeing aircraft used for long-range smaller demand cities. There are two versions of B757, 200 and 300. The difference is mainly in the bigger fuselage and therefore more available seats in the aircraft. The production of B757 ended in 2004 with 1050 aircraft's built. B757-200 can carry around 200 passengers with its fuselage of 47 meters long (155ft), range of 7,250 km (3,815 nmi) and speed of Mach 0.86 (918km/h). Apart from this model, freight version of 200 model has been built and is widely used with one of the biggest cargo companies, DHL.
Although B757 aircraft is already out of production for over a decade, new replacement has not yet been found. There are speculations that Airbus A321LR could be a potential replacement of the same capacity and range. This could be true, but even if it isn’t A321LR offers more efficient engines with lower fuel consumption, better interior cabin and “fresh” modern look from the outside (fuselage).
