Macro Art - Ice Cubes
This was an absolutely spontaneous photo shoot in the kitchen using the Yongnuo YN-360 led wand. I took the photos with my Lumix G80 and the 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6 kit lens. You gotta give it to the kit lens: it is such a great performer! It's good for landscapes, portraits and even macro photography.
The photos were then processed with Capture One Pro where I bumped the contrast, decreased the brightness, added a grain filter, and played with the RGB curves.
The camera settings were the same for all shots: f/5.6, 1/500 sec., ISO-500, 60mm
Macro photography is so much fun, and the led wand opens a whole new world of possibilities. I bought it for my video projects, but I think I'm gonna start using it way more often for photography.
Have you tried experimenting with light in your photography?
Thank you for looking,
@irreverent-dan
Very good :)) I like it ;)
Thank you, Koit! :) I am glad that you like it!
you are welcome :)
Photography is all about controlling or getting the best of the available light. Cameras and lenses are secondary. Excellent shots!
The kit lens is a great allrounder, but lacks good image quality at anything less than f/5.6 at the wide end and f/8.0 at 55mm. Even at these apertures it's a bit soft and images are a bit flat.
I've not used Capture One Pro - maybe I should give it a go, thanks for the tip! Lightroom is extremely slow :)
Поздрави! И имаш още един последовател :)
Thank you! Sure, it's not as sharp or fast as my Fuji prime lenses, but it makes good photos in good lighting conditions :) Capture One is not fast either but it could me that my computer is getting older. The 8th version a couple of years ago was considerably faster. Thanks for your comment!
Поздрави и на теб, и аз те следвам :)
Ah! If it's the Fuji lens, it's actually a very good one - probably the best kit lens on any camera. I thought you were using Nikon's kit lens, doh!
I'm certainly a bit envious of Fuji users - what's your setup?
Haha, it's actually the Panasonic Lumix kit lens :-) I also have a Fuji with a couple of prime lenses - Fujinon 35mm f/1.4 and Samyang 12mm f/1.4. Are you a Nikon user?
Aha! Samyangs are cool, but I can't imagine not using an autofocus lens. Although I've been considering a Voigtlander 40mm - either the f/2 or f/1.4.
Yes, I have a Nikon :)
I've only heard good things about the Voigtlander :) It's super easy to use manual focus lenses with Fuji and Lumix, because both of the bodies provide focus peaking.
Rub it in, why don't you :D
Wow, these pics are really interesting, great work!
Thank you, Silvia. Even the most boring objects can be interesting in the macro world :)
Its interesting how these pictures capture the different moods. Loved your piece
Thanks a lot, Nadiya! Yes, the mood of a photo can change drastically depending on the color :)
Pretty "coool" ;)
Thank you @arbutus ;)
Awesome shots!!! Macro Photography is great fun... I am in LOVE with that last shot though. The puddle of water with detail in the cubes themselves....Very Nice!
Thank you, @theweirview! I am glad that you like them. My favorite one is the first shot where you can also see the cap of my thermos flask 😀 thanks for your comment!
Interesting Photos!
Thank you @sakib 🙃 I am happy that you liked them.
Very creative.
Thank you @team101 ;)
