Borsa Prislop Romania

The Prislop (from Maramures) is the highest passage in the Eastern Carpathians, located on DN18 at 1416 m altitude, which connects the Maramureş Depression situated to the west-northwest and the South-South Bistrita (Moldova) valley -east.
The passage is located between the Rodna Mountains - to the south and the Maramures Mountains - to the north, on the top of the Preluca Tătari and the Stiol Peak (1611 m), between the Borsa town on the west and the village Şesuri from the Cârlibaba commune to the east. The part of the step from Maramureş is steeper, the passage continuing to the south with a more sloping slope.
The step is at the end of August on the first Sunday after the Assumption, the venue of the Hora de Prislop folk festival. This is an event of tradition, mentioned in documents since 1738. Forbidden for a long time (since 1848), it was resumed in 1968 through the efforts of the history teacher and folklorist Nicoara Timis and several intellectuals from Borsa.
In the First World War the Austro-Hungarian Army built around 1915 Russian prisoners of war, a railway connecting Borsa and Iacobeni, overriding. During the line's activity, at Prislop there was a real town of lighthouses with the help of electric generators. However, the railroad was subsequently abandoned after the Kingdom of Romania took over the administration of the region, but its basic elements were used in the interwar period in the construction of narrow narrow gauge railway on Vaser.

• The Roots Museum
  At the base of the passers-by (on the 67 Preluca Tătarilor Street near the Suceava County border, at the confluence of the Bistriţa Aurii with the Vulcănescu valley) is located in an old house "The Roat's Museum" where over 100 roots of trees with bizarre shapes of trees. There is also a room in which are displayed various objects belonging to soldiers fallen here in the two World Wars. The museum also contains a numismatic collection, specimens of marsh and hewn eggs from Maramures and Bucovina.
• The Prslop Monastery
  In the place where the sun rises over Maramures, in Borsa, a place full of tradition and history rises the Holy Trinity Prislop Monastery with the patronage of the Transfiguration. Here is also the Cemetery of the Heroes Fallen in World War I that was arranged and sanctified on July 21, 2009. The sanctification of the place and the construction of the monastery began in 1999. • Monument to the Tetars Preluca
  A road monument located in the area reminds of the last Tatar invasion of 1717, when under the leadership of the protopop Sandor Lupu, the Borsa have attained to the place called today the Preluca of the Tatars a victory over the Tartars who returned from the last prey of Maramures.
