Siberian America | American Siberia

in #photography7 years ago (edited)

This is a Russian river on the island of Kodiak. Those who called this river Russian, remembered that there were Russian people here. What kind of Russians were here? Why are the rivers named in their honor?

Alaska is just Siberia. American Siberia. The main city in this area of the Russian crown was the city of Tobolsk. The American authorities believe that in the period 1784-1867, Alaska was Russian.

I'm a big fan of Kodiak Island - though I never got to spot any bears there! A quality Steemit article worthy of $'s!!
