Heavy-Duty Cropping!
No. Nothing to do with agriculture or farm machines. I just thought that this picture could be much better if cropped with my cropping tool with a heavy hand. So sorry all of you who came here to see some tractors, reapers or other big farm machines. Maybe some day. :)

What do you think? Which one is better? Cropped or original?
Are you familiar with the following process?
You are looking at the art you have done. A picture, painting, photo, text, sculpture... Anything. You are looking at it and it looks good. But good isn't good enough. It might be that it's just OK. But just OK definitely isn't enough. You want it to be better than just OK. Actually, now that you look at it, it's shit. It's pretty darn awful. You don't know what you thought. You should just toss it to trash. There's nothing you can do to save it. Or is there? If you just clip here, adjust there, crop some more, make it darker, enhance this, throw away that, it looks much more better. Maybe even amazing! But just maybe. As a matter of fact it's bad. Pretty bad. You think you should just leave it as it is. It kinda looks alright if you do nothing to it. One has to know when to adjust and when to leave things as they are. This might be one of those times. Yes. This IS one of those times when you just have to leave this be 'cause it's perfect. Or is it...
If you do not know what I'm talking about, you are one of those people who always do everything right the first time, are never wrong about anything and never ever doubt yourself. I hate you.
Thank goodness there's ice-cream in the fridge. Hate is such a strong word.
OMG you really are insane :)
I have tears running from my eyes, while reading the 'Are you familiar with the following process?' part.
You are so right, and you have put it to words so brilliantly. I have mentioned it before, but I still think you should be on stage.
And where it concerns the image. You made it a lot stronger by cropping it.
Not sure it means anything coming from me, because when I look at my own pictures, I am completely going through the process you describe.
Man you are funny.
😁 I'm just telling things as they are. Facts of life.
Still funny.
So weird, I just found out, I wasn't following your account. You are on my favorites list so I always find your posts easily, but I was pretty sure I was following you as well. Took care of it now :)
Hey, @insaneworks.
Yes, hate is a strong word. However, what I got out of this is, there's generally something you can do to either improve on good work, or salvage work that's not so good. Keeping in mind that to some degree, what we do will always be viewed subjectivity, by ourselves, and by others.
For my part, I do like the cropped photo better, just because it does focus in on one particular subject, rather than many. Having the rest of things blur out is great, but you still accomplished that with the cropped photo, too, while having the flower in focus move front and center.
In fact, I probably would have cropped out some of the image above the flower too. :) But that could have boxed things in, too. Always a judgment call.
Usually if I just can't decide if something is good or really bad, I just forget about it for a while and when I return things seem clearer and I am able to decide something.
Boxing things is bad. :D In my opinion. The more I look at the options, I like the cropped version too.
Thank you for analyzing my photos! I appreciate it very much.
(I wonder would I have said this if you would have answered that the original version is the better version. Now that I've decided which one I like better. Well, let's think I would have.)
:)
Well, I don't know if you have to like my analysis, or even agree to appreciate the input. Either way, no worries on my part. I'm hardly an expert, though I've done plenty of cropping of images over the years. In this case, I think it helped me understand what you were talking about in the post because of the experience I've had and the preferences I've developed. Still, feel free to disagree if you do. No worries at all. :)
Yep! Cropping is my friend! Beautiful photo!
Thank you! :)
