Today's Harvest and Kite-flying

in #photography6 years ago

As there's rice field behind our house, the typhoon that has passed-by recently did not totally damaged the grains. So today, harvest was ongoing visibly seen from our dining area as I was about to have my late breakfast. The heat from the sun was starting to get intense so those poor souls will have to endure its' effect.

Our mango tree fell over the wall to the fields during the typhoon though we have not strarted cutting the branches to save the grains. I guess we will probably once the harvest is over.

I get severe headaches when under the sun, even in a short period. As heat stroke is frequent in these parts, i stayed away. I waited for them to get near our wall with no success as half of the field was all they harvested. They stopped soon after lunch.

Ever flown a kite?

As it's the weekend, my nephew has been flying his kite outside our house, but came in once it started to get hot. Not that it stopped him being under the sun.

There's not much breeze on the ground the reason he was up on the wall!

Come October is the start of kite season, where there will be competitions, kite fight and so forth. As our streets are full of rice grains being dried under the sun, i imagine there will be full blown kite flying all around town.

I've seen kites left alone, but ours didn't stay up for long, for the reason that i didn't quite understand. Give me a few days to learn handling a roll of thread...

This guy right here won 2 competitions in 2016, one in the small category and the other, it's the tiniest winning kite!

I've never been very good at kite flying either @immarojas although is something with often do up on The South Downs.

I hope the rice harvesters had a successful day. It is fortunate that the crop wasn't too damaged by the typhoon.

have a lovely weekend. 😊

And you Gillian! We leave the experts shall we?
Some neighbours aren't convinced that there will be a lot but we hope that there will be.

it is very bad to stay in the sun for a long time. You have to protect yourself, but if you need to, then you should cover the sunflower's head as best as possible, because you can get a sunstroke.
You took good pictures on Samsung ^. ^
Sooner or later the grain collection will end, everything has a property when it ends !. God help you!

I stay away as much thank you.
Samsung has been giving me great pics😊😊

Que lindo es @immarojas cuando cosechamos los frutos de nuestro trabajo y los niños disfrutando con los papagayos

Cometa is a kite?
