Sunday - Photo Memories - The Old Neighborhood

A corner in the city. Corners are very important parts of the city structure. Corners define the crossroads and limit plots. Corners are creating highly energetic areas around, usually, humans are not aware of this fact, but staying in front of a corner (such as the one on the picture above) could cause momentaneous derangement of brain's electromagnetic activity. Static energy of the structure tends to escape from corners and matter filters the lost particles keeping what the structure needs for being strong and stable. The rest of the particles are expelled forming an invisible cloud of ionized plasma. Humans might feel a bit strange if they stay more than 10 minutes (average limit) at the corner. Angles within a structure may have different effects on the human brain. Usually, the simplest effect is felt as unjustified nervousness or slight anxiety. Of course, very few people know about this phenomenon. The fact that in the long run angles do not obviously affect healthy brain activity does not help to understand the problem. In fact, all shapes of urban structures, the whole architectural image of the city positively or negatively affects human mood. Curves, arches, well-positioned columns, symmetry, and circular structures have a positive effect on human mood. The shapes that man chooses for his constructions also reveal structural elements of the collective consciousness of a community or society. Architecture is the most important "book" or register of human evolution. Everything is recorded in buildings, in urban structures, in palaces, in temples, in the homes of the poor and in the mansions of the rich. Studying architectural traditions over the centuries can reveal important aspects of people's everyday life. Every building has a soul eventually, this is the energy that was put in by the architects, the builders, those who stayed in these buildings over time. That is why the old buildings are by definition respectable. They are the living museums of the city and their history must be preserved and recorded at the entrance - visible inscriptions. It would be an excellent example of the culture and evolution of human values. Unfortunately, in many major cities, such as Athens, few historic buildings are preserved and even less inhabited or used for social or other public purposes.

Let's go back to the photo. This is a corner building that used to be the border of my old neighborhood. When I arrived at the crossroads in front of this building, a few steps separated me from my home. At that time I was working in a publishing house. My office was about two hundred meters from the house, and though the distance was small, it seemed endless in the winter when I came back very late at night, after many tiring hours of work. So arriving in front of this building I was stopping for a moment, for taking a breath and strength to cover the last steps towards the house. Of course, as the building was used as a hotel I could get in and spend the night there if I couldn't resist the cold to continue walking. For many years I lived in this neighborhood of Athens. It has been one of the most creative periods in my life to date. My job was worth it, my daily life was as I wanted it to be. I was happy. At that time, the building was in much better shape and functioned as a hotel. At night, the street corner was alive thanks to the lights of the building and the few passersby. It was wonderful ... or let's be gentle ... It was more beautiful. Nowadays, in front of and around the building, everything is dark at night. It is also a sign that the evolution and conquest of the beautiful and useful go beyond the dark only when humans are willing to turn on the lights of their minds... Which are turned off for a long time...

The Photo above was taken a few days ago during a walk in my old neighborhood. It is included in the #mnemonicphotos collection. Of course, it reminds me of my old neighborhood. I hope you like this photo and I wish you a nice and creative Sunday!!!
