Some views of Philly, along my bike ride to the gym

A big part of summer time for me is about riding my bike around the city. Lately, instead of driving to the gym, I've been biking from my place in West Philly. It's not a quick ride, but the summer sun, combined with the scenic views and some upbeat music make for a really fun ride. So here are a few quick pics from my travels today.

The route I follow takes me down the wide, tree-lined blocks of the Spruce Hill neighborhood

and past Clark Park.

From there I cruse through the University City section and take the South Street Bridge. This bridge gives you some of the best views of Philly's growing skyline.

The bridge also leads to the Schuylkill River Park which runs along the river, past the Art Museum and onward many other parts of the city.

The park features a boardwalk that goes out over the water for a few blocks before reconnecting with the rest of the park.



There's train tracks that separate the park from the rest of the Taney Neighborhood which is just over the river.
So there are exits a little further up and a cross over to use to get over the tracks when trains are coming through like this morning.

Caught a bit of freight graffiti art, which is always fun!

There's some chique, over-price, new construction apartments and a garden.

And a dog park, which was much less busy than usual.

There's a beer garden that just popped-up recently
though it wasn't open just yet.

There's a lot of space to chill and relax.

Can't forget about the Phillies mural.

Here's some other new buildings on the west side of the river.

The park goes farther than I took it today. Maybe next time I'll go along boat house row and snap some more for the record.

Here is the Market St. exit where you're greeted by this majestic stone eagle.

Then it was off to the gym to work out and take care of the other business of the day.
