Walk With Me Through the City of Light
Every year, in Bucharest, we have this festival called Spotlight. It takes place in all sorts of areas of town and it features these really amazing light shows, projected on important buildings. So, our town becomes the City of Light...for a while.
Now, I'm not usually into all that community jazz, but I figured why the hell not?
It's a beautiful day! Well, night, technically. So, I went, along with some friends, to see the bright lights and I must admit,I was pleasantly surprised at the show.
Isn't this lovely? To me, 'amore' is one of the most beautiful words in the existence of language. Above the window in the top left, you can see the word 'Dragoste', which is Romanian for love <3
Have you ever wondered how many faces one building can have?
Pretty impressive, isn't it?
I couldn't help but wish our town always looked like this. Well, maybe with less people, as you could hardly walk. We had to form a human chain so as not to get lost.
You know the Black Mirror episode with the comedian who does the voice of that obnoxious cartoon bear that gets into politics? This felt kinda like that..I kept expecting a rude, high-pitched voice to shout at us
Aah they show their true forms! :)
My friend kept saying how awesome that we went there, since we never go out like this and what a fun experience it was. And after a bit of thought, I have to agree. It was fun, walking around the night, because it didn't really feel like night.
It was like the whole town was up waaay past their bedtime and like someone shouldn't know about this.
For short, it was fun!
FUUN! Don't you just love this one? So alive, so happy - kinda felt like the whole crowd would start dancing. Also, sorry for the mass of people in the shot. Tried to tell them to move, so I could take a picture for my friends on Steemit, but what can you do?
Nice post @honeydue. it's very interesting to see a place in a different light. This is certainly not the Bucharest you see in travel brochures but its a lovely view of that wonderful city. thank you for sharing! Following :)
Thanks, it really was a fun night :)
From late November until February my town lights up all of the downtown area. It is a massive tourist event. I usually avoid downtown during this time, but this past year I did the same as you. There is something about getting out at night--makes you feel like a teenager again. Everything looks exciting and new again. Maybe it isn't nighttime so much as just a change in scene. I will check it out again next year.
Your city's lights are prettier. Mine are just a bunch of Christmas lights put together :)
Whatever it is, it's fun to do things different now and then!
Thanks, I'm really glad I went :)
Yes its pretty impressive
Nice article
