The Wieskirche in Bavaria - Some impressions..
One of germany most beautiful rococo style churches is the
Wieskirche in Bavaria.
I was happy to visit it once in 2015..
It is amazing. Full of escoes and with stuccowork but with a light, upraising feeling.
This is a view into the altar room:
Here is the fresco over the hall. It is huge. All frescos by the way have been created by Bavarian artists which learned their craft in Italy before.
Here an angel from one of the frescos steps into reality.
In the main fresco of the Wieskirche there is this Trompe-l'œil (French for "deceive the eye", pronounced [tʁɔ̃p lœj]) angel -
"Trompe-l'œil is an art technique that uses realistic imagery to create the optical illusion that the depicted objects exist in three dimensions. Forced perspective is a comparable illusion in architecture." From Wikipedia
Thus the artist tried to break the barrier between heaven and earth...

About the Series
Germany is a diverse country, with many different landscapes, some beauty and bountiful, some barren and harsh -
it has high mountains like the alps, mountainous areas like black wood forest and rolling hills close to my home, and plains with a far horizons in the north - and many, many sights in between.
I want showing you a bit of the variety of my country -
how I do see it in color or black and white.
Hope you enjoy
