Beautiful Sunset in our yard behind our old house, and other pictures of nature and wildlife from our area including a super rare fish. This is why I love Florida.
This is a lake that we had that came up to our back yard. The lake is several miles and has tons of freshwater fish including giant carps, gars and bass. Not a fan of freshwater fishing so only fished there a few times and caught and released a bunch of Tilapias and big Carps.
Same lake in the morning.
We get tons of Mangoes and Avocados locally along with many other tropical fruits when they are in Season. We have the same weather here as my country of origin Cuba.
Mangrove trails in a park that leads to a beautiful dock where you can fish on salt water.
My wife fishing at the end of the trail on the dock. She did not catch anything this day lol.
An Osprey sitting on top of a dead tree stump looking for fish to catch.
One of the huge Carps I caught in the lake behind our old house. These guys are an invasive species and have really messed up the fresh water native fish over the years. I still release them since I am not going to eat it.
The rarest fish I have ever caught. This is called a Sawfish and they are an endangered and protected species. Actually caught like 3 of them in that same spot, all safely released and reported to Florida Game and Wildlife.
Not to sound like a tour guide or a travel agency salesman, but it is really beautiful on this coast and I feel very blessed to live here. If you guys ever want to travel some where nice and have not been to South West Florida. I highly Recommend it. It is amazingly beautiful.
Beautiful series. That bird really got for himself the highest perch.
They are really cool. I actually had a picture of a Bald Eagle carrying a catfish. I have to find where I put those.
@healthyrecipe, you made me want to take the next available flight to your village - so many captivating activities to make me want to visit there over and over and over again 😀 🤣
Keep enjoying my friend
Hehe, thank you so much my friend. I can not wait until Mango season again. 🙈🙈😋
😄
beautiful! looks very similar to where I grew up in Sebastian - lots of mangrove trees and the fun "Environmental Learning Center" that we used to go to when I was a kid.
It is really beautiful. I am from New England and have traveled a bit but love being so close to the water here and how pristine nature still is.
agreed. I've traveled a lot as well and it's really rare to find what we have in Florida (most parts at least, haha)
Lol it does have some not so nice parts, just like any where else.
nice photos
Thanks
Sunsets are always lovely. +1 :)
