Insects (also called Insecta, read "insects", derived from the Latin insectum, a loan word from the language Yunaniἔντομον [éntomon], "cut into sections") is one kelasavertebrata in the phylum arthropods have an exoskeleton berkitin, the body is divided three parts (head, thorax, and abdomen), three pairs of legs fused base, compound eyes, and a pair of antennas. Insects belong to one of the most diverse groups of animals, including more than one million species and describes more than half of known living organisms. The number of extant species is estimated at between six to ten million, and potentially represent over 90% of life forms different animal on earth. source

Insects can be found in nearly all environments, although only a small number live in the oceans, a habitat dominated by another arthropod group, crustaceans.
