My Amazing New Year in Thailand - 1st Jan 2018
I have had the opportunity of doing New Year celebration in most of the bigger city's of Thailand over the years that i have been coming to Thailand but this time i had decided to do New Year in a smaller town up North East of Thailand a place called Khon Kaen in Issan.
This came into mind when i was talking to a lady friend of my, we got on the conversation about New Year partying and i wanted to do it some where different and not in a big city so she suggested come to Khon Kaen i wasn't sure about that but she had convinced me to fly out of Bangkok and visit Khon Kaen for New Year.
She was quite a party going girl when i had first meant her in Bangkok so i thought well this might not be to bad she, wouldn't make me book a ticket to a boring party so on the net i when and booked myself a ticket out of Bangkok to Khon Kaen.
The morning i was flying into Khon Kaen city looking down from inside the plane it actually looked like a real enormous city but looked very nicely spread out. Issan is know for a lot of farm land so nothing was really packed in together like a big city look.
So here i was for the Khon Kaen Countdown 2018.
I must say it was taking me by surprise i had never imagined it was going to look like this for a city of farmers this was starting to look pretty good and exciting.
Was my first time ever in Khon Kaen city and already i was falling in love with the lay out of the city and the local people were so much different to the big city people just seemed a lot more happy and more time for you. Well we all feel more stressed in a big city and no time for each other.
Actually Khon Kaen has one of the largest university in Thailand and is a important hub for all things commercial, Khon Kaen is youthful, educated and on the move. It is becoming a very popular city for foreigners to live in.
As you are seeing from the photos it's a incredible set up can't image the amount of man hours that when into creating this amazing show of lights so colorful and so well place out just like been on another planet.
I am actually so over whelmed with this set up i can't even get the right words to describe my excitement about it just "AWESOME" by looking at the photos i am sure you would agree.
I felt i was walking through a whole new galaxy we had just discovered like star war ship.
The sound system was another this so clear and crisp and all in tune with the flashing and changing of colors with the beat of the music and the beautiful dancing girls and guys just perfect.
Live bands and Isaan culture dancing on stage was just brilliant really enjoyed watching there traditional folk dancers and music.
Another thing that i was extremely happy with was the amount of security present which made me feel more comfortable been in such a large crowd.
After enjoying a great evening of entertainment , and great Isaan food with a fantastic line up of vendors present it was time for that moment of Countdown the moment everyone had so ingeniously put together for this tremendous occasion......and here we go...!!
And this is the lovely lady that invited me to the best New Year i have had in Thailand to much of my surprise it will be one never forgotten and i will come back to this beautiful city of people to learn more about this wonderful city.
