California Wildfire And Aftermath: Photos
While traveling around in our RV we happened to be in Mariposa county at the time of a huge wildfire.
The city was evacuated and we had to leave.
We took some pictures on the way out and now that we have returned to the area:
The fire, called the Detwiler Fire, ignited on July 16 , 2017
Cal Fire said the “discharge of firearms, on public lands, is responsible for sparking the fire.”
The blaze consumed 81,826 acres, destroyed 63 homes, 67 minor structures and one commercial structure.
The damage is obvious and the lands are now bare where they were once lush.
Unfortunately, wildfires are not a rare occurrence for California but I had never experienced being in the heart of one until now!
The planet is wonderful at healing fro these fires - that must of been a amazing and terrifying experience for you! Amazing photos!
Following you - you seem to have awesome adventures!
I agree nature is amazing! Yes it was scary! Thank you for the follow! @sallybeth23
Renewal through burning. Nice shots, hope no person or property was damaged..
