RE: "Lost"
The problem I see is that so many farmers have gotten huge - it's nearly impossible for a small farmer to survive. Someone wanting to start farming, without having it been in the family for a generation (or more) can forget about it. They simply cannot afford the expense of the ground (if they could even find it), let alone the equipment to maintain it. Farmers use to be considered large if they farmed more than a couple hundred acres. Now those guys don't even exist - most are farming in the thousands of acres of land.
Yes that is true and so sad at the same time. We are losing so much by not making it easier for small farmers/homesteads to get started.
There is really no excuse for the amount of people around the globe that go hungry on a daily basis and also no excuse for the diseases that go uncured...despite everyone knowing there are cures out there...well except greed, that is the only excuse I can think of, and its a crappy excuse at best. :(
If everyone (or at least those in rural areas) had even two acres of food growing on their land then nobody would ever have to worry about food again...of course this is just my opinion and we all are entitled to our own. :D
