My Wife's Mother-In-Law's Tongue
Hello Steemit friends. What do Mother-In-Law's Tongue, St. George's Sword, Viper's Bowstring Hemp and Snake Plant have in common? They are names used to describe a specie of flowering plant known as Sansevieria Trifasciata.
My wife has been growing a few of this plant for quite some time already. Recently however she has doubled her efforts to grow and propagate this plant because she just found out that it absorbs toxins in the air through its leaves and at the same time produces pure oxygen. Even during night time the Sansevieria continues to emit oxygen unlike other plants whichbegin to emit carbon dioxide at nights due to lack of photosynthesis. Thus it makes for the ideal indoor plant.
Here's a photo caption I came across in my FB about Snake Plant:

In addition, my wife recently read that one of the dangers of having a Wifi connection at home is it gives off electromagnetic radiation that could potentially be harmful to humans. There are as much different studies and findings as to whether the Wifi and similar wireless devices such as Bluetooth and cell phones are really safe or not. But what piqued our interest was how the Sansevieria plant also has the ability to absorb not only toxins but radiation from Wifi as well.
That was it. Keeping in mind the saying, "It is much better to err on the side of caution" my wife's garden now features the Sansevieria Trifasciata plant in different pots which are all destined to be relocated inside the house to give us some protection against toxins and radiations.
