About a vase

The life of a vase is quite fragile. It can remain intact for thousands of years under the earth until someone finds it, or it can break into little pieces before it even reaches the counter.

It is one of the amazing things about ceramics. It can withstand high temperatures, reach a high degree of hardness, capable of lasting thousands of years without suffering any degradation, but also once broken, it is impossible to take it to its original state, even if one picks up the pieces and tries to fix it .

This piece has been in my house for more than forty years, was manufactured in what was West Germany at the time, its development included several layers of paint, inside is blue and outside, orange and black. In my opinion it is at the same time rustic and elegant, simple and complex at the same time, like those contradictions of these materials made with earth and fire.
