There's loads of problems and sometimes I worry it will never turn around although I stay around as I feel there maybe a turn-around, and improvement, on the way. Naive possibly, but I've spent too much effort to let it go now. In reality it is still early days and so I gather steem in the hope it will have some benefit down the track. And you?
I am hopefully. From a new entry perspective it is much much better. Spam under control and trending not an embarrassment. So thats a start. The next issue is light accounts which are coming so people can sign up without actually signing up so to speak. I have looked at all the alternatives for social media on the blockchain and I think steem is the best (which says perhaps more about the others); but its never as easy as it looks from the outside. Price is simply related to the market but I feel like we are better positioned for adoption for the next bull run then we were for the last where people rushed in and the system was broken.
I agree with all you say. This is my only social media and I have fun here so that helps me wade through the negatives. I believe it could be great and like I said, early days. Let's hope they turn up in droves. 🙂
Yes hopefully they come in droves. I have 80k followers elsewhere mostly controlled by Facebook (FB and Instagram) which is disappointing as I just watch the reach being removed with every "please promote your post for $42 to reach an additional 8k users" advertiser I get.
Yep, those sites are not something I'm willing to engage with. Hate them. YouTube is a shocker now also.
As a photographer you have no choice as thats where the people aka clients are ;-)

I am hoping to crack 5k followers here before the next bull run as I think that will be a good base and people will flock back. But I have 70k steem so take everything I say with a grain of salt as I might be a bit bias lol
Haha, yeah that's a good number, the Steem and followers. I have far fewer followers and only 24,000 steem but still, it's enough to want it to go well. Fingers crossed hey?
Yes fingers crossed; I have a way to go to 5k followers but they are steadily (aka slowly) going up.
I think followers will mean a lot in the future...You have a good brand and interesting content so I'm sure you'll get there.
I have always wondered about intrepidphotos; I have used it for 20 years, but a lot of people on Instagram just think my account is a hub which posts other peoples photos I think. In a way it would be better to use my actual name for brand recognition. The issue is Robert Downie is the worst internet name as it just gets autocorrected to Robert Downey Jnr by google.
I use my own name here, as I felt that some personality would be good. At first I thought I'd made a mistake, now I'm glad I did. Maybe you could slowly start to morph into something more identifiable, slowly...I don't think your name is all that bad, maybe an adaptation of it though?
I like intrepidphotos; for steem its good. I use robertdowniephotogaphy on facebook and intrepidphotos on instagtam. I shifted my webpage from intrepidphotos.com to robertdowniephotography.com . For real followers its not an issue; if they cant be bothered to read the blurb under my account then they are not going to be engaged with the content anyway.
That's true. There's so many followers who are not really there if you know what I mean. Still, those of us who stick around and are consistent should see some reward later on as more on-board. I focus on engagement, replying and commentjng a lot. It's all I really have as I don't have a thing like your photos. All I have is me. 🙈
