Self Protraits

I think that I will start by sharing those little pieces of work I like doing.

So first "Selfies"

2 years back or so I tried to join the #dogwoodphotography challenge, and take a themed picture a week. Of course it didn't work, cause my ability to do the same project for more than a month is very very limited.
But in the photos I did manage to take I found out I'm very interested in taking self portraits. Now I found a few pictures from back then and I feel like sharing them with you.

Selfies is just a new name for an old phenomenon, one that has been with us ever since we started to paint or take photographs.
But the more "enlightened" way to call it is "Self Portrait", in my eyes there is not much of a difference, the only difference is in the amount of thought we put into the picture before we take it. When I take selfies I can take a 100 different ones to find the perfect selfie, but when I do a self portrait I think so much before hand about the photo I might only take 5-6 photos and choose between them.
But when I owned a film-camera even 5 photos weren't a possibility, I could only take 1 or 2 photos, as it was expensive to use and develop, and whatever came out I needed to be happy about it. There were years I put a lot of thought taking each photo with this camera, but there were years that I just took pictures without thinking. To this day, I do not know what came out better. But the style was completely different, so maybe it's like comparing an apple to an orange.
