Toy Review: UbiWorkshop Assassin's Creed Syndicate Cane Sword

Sold by UbiWorkshop last 2015 and crafted by McFarlane Toys (probably), I present to you the Cane Sword from Assassin's Creed Syndicate!!! This weapon was a combination of a grip with a hidden sword and a cane body that doubles as a scythe. In the game, this was wielded by both Jacob and Evie Frye during their liberation of Victorian London from the Templars. For the first time, we get to see an official Assassin's Creed prop replica weapon besides the Hidden Blades.

Encased in a clamshell package, the Cane Sword has three parts that are easily assembled and comes along with an instruction manual.

The Cane Sword is entirely made of hard plastic, with the exception of the scythe blade, which is made of soft plastic.

The grip is beautifully sculpted and coated with a weathered gold paint. The eye socket would have been better with a gemstone made of plastic than a simple olive green paint. As you can see, the grip in my Cane Sword does not insert all the way through the main body. The main body of the cane bears a wooden texture to imitate its supposed wooden construct, though in the game, I remember it being as smooth as a metal pole.

The sword blade was unsatisfying since the detailing is too soft-looking. The sword is secured by a small, spring-loaded plastic pip at the side that fits through a small hole at the upper portion of the cane body.

The scythe blade looks simple, though its tip is sharp. It is spring-loaded and is deployed by pressing a small button at the lower base of the cane. The blade locks felt a little bit loose, so I don't usually flip the blade out.

The Cane Sword lies between the "A-OK" and "somewhat okay" in my rating meter. It costs $25 compared to its corresponding Hidden Blade prop, which costs $28 to $35.
