Anyway, do you know how a 3d model is made? The most common technique is called photogrammetry, basically works in this way: takes a lot of pics (higher is the quality, better will be the 3d model) from different angle, then put all together with a specific software.
In ogni caso, sai come è fatto un modello 3d? La tecnica più comuneè chiamata fotogrammetria, in pratica funziona cosi: prendi tante foto (maggiore è la loro qualità, migliore sarà il modello 3d) da differenti angolazioni, poi metti insieme tutte queste foto tramite un software specifico.
To transform a single image in a 3d model isn't so easy and required a lot of computational works. Seems that this new code simplify hugely this transformation. Of course, isn't perfect but is just a prototype!
Trasformare una singola immagine in un modello 3d non è semplice e richiede tanto lavoro computazionale.
Sembra che questo nuovo codice semplifica enormemente questa trasformazione.

sorry to interrupt all the fun but have you ever thought about whoelse gets this data? The webpage doesn't say much. I wouldn't want to have my 3d image in any kind of archive. Don't give away all your informations that easily.
