📷 Reptiles in the Aquarium Berlin #12: The Rhinoceros Iguana! (English/German)
Hi Steemians, today I will show you photos of a very cool lizard, called Rhinoceros Iguana! With a weight of up to ten kilogrammes and a length of 1,5 metres, the Rhinoceros Iguana is one of the largest lizards and can be found on varius Caribbean islands. It prefers to live in dry savannas, where it mainly feeds on plants. Only young iguanas also eat a large amunt of living animals suchs as insects. Rhinoceros Iguanas are under threat of extinction.
[German] Hallo Steemianer, heute werde ich euch Fotos von einer sehr coolen Echse zeigen, genannt Nashornleguan! Mit bis zu zehn Kilogramm Gewicht und einer Größe von 1,5 m zählt der auf verschiedenen Karibikinseln lebende Nashornleguan zu den größten Echsen. Sein bevorzugter lebensraum sind trockene Savannengebiete, wo er sich hauptsächlich von Pflanzen ernährt. Nur Jungtiere nehmen auch grössere Anteile tierischer Kost, etwa Insekten, zu sich. Nashornleguane sind vom Aussterben bedroht.
