My first post.
My blog will be about film and film cameras.
This blog will be about my newest old camera. The Kodak Bantam Flash. This was a update to the original Bantam. The little Bantam camera came out in the 30s. It uses 828 size rolled film. 828 film is the same size as 35mm but with out the holes, this give 30% bigger negative. Kodak marketed these cameras as a cheaper choice over 35mm cameras.
The Kodak Bantam Flash came out in 1947. The body is bakelite and metals. What makes this the "flash" is now it has a flash attachment. The lens is a Kodak Anastar f:4.5 48mm. the camera has 6 shutter settings T B 25 50 100 and 200. The aperture has 5 settings from 4.5 to 16. The lens focus from 2.5 feet to infinity with settings at 25 and 50 feet a little odd but nice. It is a small camera that fits in my hand. to open the camera you push the button by the winding wheel. The camera pops open in a nice action. The viewfinder opens a little harder but to bad. The camera is heavier than it looks (bakelite)
My camera is in good shape. It has a clear lens and all shutter speed seem to work right. The bellows are in good condition. I loaded an old roll of Verichrome that's 45 plus year old. I will be taking the 8 pictures and developing the film and posting the results in future post.
Thanks for reading my post I hope you stay tune. I will be going over other cameras and film and posting pictures from the cameras I use.
