Rickysphotochallenge - Week 4 -Dramatic skies Entry 2
This was shot near where I grew up in Gratangen, Norway. It is a HDR edit of this frame. A nice evening I was on my way to go home. I just noticed the fog was comming in and as always it calls for some interesting lights.
Very nice.
You got a great shot there!
Thank you!
Stunning! 'Gratangen' makes me think of Swedish gratäng which is delicious.
It's more complicated than that. It is derived from old norse. Grjot means stone, angen means fjord. So in a modern language it would be "Stonefjord" or "Steinfjorden" in norwegian.
Thank you! I hope you don't mind my joking about it above. I knew it wasn't about a gratin. I enjoyed the etymology. I studied Old Norse many years ago and some Old Swedish, but I didn't know these words.
